Communications Coordinator for the Massachusetts Institute of

Libraries, will retire from MIT June 30, 2003. She
served as Head of MIT’s Engineering and Science Libraries from 1988 to
1999, and previously
held positions as Director of the Air Force Geophysics Laboratory
Research
Library, and Region I (New England) Librarian
for the
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. President of Special Libraries
Association 1990-1991, Seidman is the author of the 1993 SLA
monograph Building
Global Partnerships for Library Cooperation and was editor
of the
Haworth Press, Inc. quarterly Science & Technology Libraries
1994-2001. She plans to continue
following the always exciting developments in the information world,
but will
now have more time for her many interests including creative writing,
the arts,
women’s and children’s issues, and her family.
